RULES

ALL SHOWS RAIN OR SHINE

 

  • Must be a member to show (can join at show)

  • GRAND ENTRY fee is mandatory (must be in arena to qualify for prizes).

  • Decision of judge is final - announcer is acting judge for speed classes.

  • No refunds for jackpot classes if they do not fill.

  • As of January 1, 2015

    • Youth riders:10 years old and under

    • Junior riders:11years old to 16 years old

    • Adult riders: 17 years and older

  • lf a youth rider is being lead through a class they will not be judged or receive points.
    Participation ribbon will be given only

  • lf showing in pony walk trot, cannot show same rider and pony in youth walk trot.

  • Horses head must be in chute before running.

  • T-shirt or full collared shirt and boots are required to show.

  • We strongly encourage riders to wear helmets for their own safety.

  • For jackpot walk trot and pleasure, must wear proper show attire (long sleeved collared shirt, cowboy hat/helmet and boots)

  • Members must work one show in order to receive year end high point awards.

    • For a junior or adult rider they must work themselves, for youth rider a parent or legal guardian.

  • No hitting or spuning in front of cinch.

  • Current negative coggins required on all horses and ponies.

  • Handlers of stallions must be 18 years old or older.

  • Only ONE run per horse per class division.

  • No minimum number of riders per class required except for Jackpot classes, must have 3.

  • Absolutely no running of horses around show grounds except in designated areas.

  • Horses must be under control at all times.

  • We reserve the right to ask a person/horse to leave due to misconduct.

  • Keep off arena fence at all times.

  • Horses can not be tied to trees and fences.

  • No alcoholic beverages on grounds.

  • Dogs or pets must be kept on a leash and in contact at all times.

  • No smoking inside clubhouse.

  • No horses allowed in adjacent lake campgrounds.

  • We recornmend keeping all horses on the club grounds during shows.

 

Macoupin County Wild Riders will not be responslble for any accidents to, or caused by, horses riders or the loss of equipment, horses, riders, and spectators enter the grounds and arena at their own risk.

 

*NEW TO OUR RULES THIS YEAR*

One adult (age 18 or older) may go in the arena with a youth rider and walk along side for safety, the youth must be in control of the horse/pony at all times. lf the adult touches the horse or takes control of the horse/pony the youth will not be judged. This is for children age 6 and under. Age exceptions will be made for children with handicap.
